This low energy contemporary dwelling is currently at the planning stage. The dwelling has set-out with a living wing and kitchen wing, both of which have been positioned to optimize the view to the Western Scottish Isles The living wing consists of an open and spacious kitchen/dining area with a sunken living area to the West. In addition, there is a staircase that leads to an office, small guest bedroom and mezzanine area with walkway. A fully glazed, South facing lean-to gives the owner a fantastic space for growing vegetables indoors. The bedroom wing features 2 large en-suite bedrooms both with stunning views. A glazed entrance lobby allows a natural separation between the bedroom and living wings.
The dwelling will feature a large amount of energy saving design solutions. An MVHR system, PV panels and heavily insulated walls are only a few of the features that will ensure a very ecological product. The use of Passivhaus software and air testing will confirm the high efficiency of the building once complete.
